Designer, DJ, curator, and producer, Marvin Rawdawgtreats, speaks about his creative process with his labeled lifestyle “New Orgy.” With his brand stemming from Las Vegas reaching Miami, LA, London, Dallas, Virginia, and Taiwan, he is setting the standards of fashion’s new future.
After a celebratory night filled with bubbly mimosas, Marvin and his kin were browsing Raf Simmon’s “New Order” collection filled with abstract and bold coats and parkas embodying post-punk. “New Orgy came from this idea ranging from $800, but I wanted it to cost less,” Marvin explains.
“An orgy,” Marvin continues, “are people in a room with the right idea and alike minds because you know what the fuck is going on. We’re all made out of sex, and sex sells. An orgy is a connection of taste and levels.”
Although it's a taboo idea, “New Orgy” has a distinct play on words. Marvin says, it is a “New organization and religion. New Orgy is the new Gucci—my heaven,” as pink, orange, and red represents the brand’s appreciation and love towards the female energy. The color’s attributes symbolize a refreshing and new aura attracting all.
Marvin emphasizes staying true to originality and authenticity. “I hate seeing the same shit. I’m not fetching for any compliments because comparison is a thief of happiness,” when statements are brought upon his personal style. Although mega influencers have comparable designs to Marvin’s prototypes in progress, “I will still do it, but I have to act on it fast to say I did it first,” he expressed.
For example, when Marvin dropped the “No Means No” campaign, Doja Cat dropped the “Yes” collection with similar colors and concepts during the same exact time period. Furthermore, Noah on Dover Street Market released their New Order pieces when New Orgy curated their first pieces. The connection between creators and artists is stronger than ever. It was until Marvin was made aware of NIGO, Jun Takahashi, and VERDY’s Last Orgy 2 Collection in Jan 2022 that intertwined his brand’s biggest inspirations of UNDERCOVER and BAPE from the early 90s.
Marvin reveals a new collection for “New Orgy” in Oct. 2022 with themes of New Americana and a New World Orgy. He describes, “The word new is a cape that you put on something that exists already. We are a new orgy in the middle of the world.”
With plans for universal mass production worldwide, “New Orgy” wants to partner with Euphoria’s rising star, Chloe Cherry. “If Pharrell and Kanye West acknowledged New Orgy for what it is, it would be a full circle,” as Marvin unravels his intentions, “I wanna have another bag where I bring artists together for non-profit.” New Orgy already started an Eargasm collection featuring artists collaborating together as one community.
